Inspiration from the Stars
Interview with Clarissa Fadeda
FabMo met Clarissa Fadeda (pronounced Fey-da-dey) on the set of Turbo
Girls III.
FM: Congratulations on becoming a new mother, Clarissa.
CF: You’re welcome.
FM: Was it a shock to learn you were having twins?
CF: No, I’m a twin myself. I’m a Gemini.
FM: What are your twins called?
CF: Pulse and Lentil.
FM: Are they girls?
CF: Of course they're girls – why would
I call them Pulse and Lentil if they were boys?
FM: Yes, sorry.
CF: That would just be cruel…
FM: There haven’t been any pictures released yet.
Are your twins identical?
CF: Yes they are – I’ve always said, if
you’re gonna have twins, you should have identical ones. That way they'll go through life always having
someone to be their stand-in. You can dress them the same, which
looks really cute and it saves money too. If you buy two of everything, Dolce
& Gabana Baby give you a discount.
FM: I didn’t realize that.
CF: I always think about stuff like that. People think
because I’ve got all this money, I’m above it all, but I’m
still just little ol' Clary from the block.
FM: Would you like to have more children?
CF: Yeah sure – children are my life. Next I want
a set of boy twins.
FM: It must be difficult – juggling twins and
filming a movie.
CF: I’d never juggle the twins! That would be
sick!
FM: Sorry.
CF: And besides, I couldn’t do that when I'm filming. I have to concentrate
on my lines.
FM: I hear you have a book coming out, Clarissa?
CF: Yes, I do. I’m very proud of it. It’s
about my philosophy of Momhood.
FM: What’s the book called?
CF: ‘Clary’s Cradles.’ I’m gonna
to do a follow-up called ‘Buggies of Blessings.’
FM: Could you tell us a little about your philosophy?
CF: Well – I believe that children are our future.
Teach them well and let them lead the way. Then you’ve got to show
them all the beauty they possess inside.
FM: They’re beautiful words, Clarissa.
CF: Yeah – they just came to me.
FM: When is your book due out?
CF: It should be ready in a couple of months. Just in
time for my babies’ arrival.
FM: Arrival?
CF: Yeah – they’re not here yet. They got
delayed – legal problems. My agent says it’ll be okay though.
He says they'll get them here before the movie's over so I can keep them on set.
FM: So you won’t have to be apart from them.
CF: Yeah, sure. And I’ve got them two little director’s
chairs, you know. With ‘Turbette’ written on the back.
FM: That’s a lovely idea.
CF: Yeah, I thought so. My agent says the babies might
be a bit small for the chairs at first, so I’m going to have ‘TurbetteMobile’
painted on their trailer.
FM: What is the one thing you wish for your children,
Clarissa?
CF: I really wish they could’ve been here for
Turbo Girls II. That would’ve been really special. Then it would’ve
been Turbo Girls II and the two Turbettes! I asked the Producer if he
could change the name, but he said he couldn’t call the film the
same as last year coz people would get confused.
FM: I see. Thank you for speaking to us, Clarissa, and
good luck with the film.
CF: Can I go now?
Clarissa Fadeda’s Book, Three Little Miracles, is due out next month.
