"Balancing the Spirit Level of Your Soul"
Actress Polly Paltry reaches out to ordinary women...
Hello Fellow Spirits
It is my greatest wish (now that I’ve bagged the Oscar) to reach out to you charmingly obscure women across the virtual world.
I’ve been blessed, you see. Being a successful actress means that I’ve been able to glean a life-time’s insight into how we should live our lives. It’s one of the perks of the job, that and never having to pay for a designer dress. It’s not just my knowledge that you're now allowed access to, however. My success has brought me into contact with many other inspirationally gorgeous women – who, let’s face it, wouldn’t talk to you if you were stuck in a lift – and what I have learnt from them, I want to share with you.
Today I want to talk to you about how we can all share some quality ‘mind time’ with our children. The subject came up over a cup of Mongolian spring water with my dear friend and skilled baby-shopper, Belladonna. She’d recently fallen off her horse again and had been catching up on some reading. She told me how she had discovered this amazing little book. It’s a beautiful allegory of life’s spiritual journey.
It’s so full of wisdom yet so colourful and simple, that it got me thinking.... Why keep this knowledge to myself, why not try and share it with my children? So, once I’d finished reading it (don’t worry, no spoilers here – I won’t give the ending away) I read it to my three-year-old daughter, Meterorite. It wasn’t the first time I’d experimented with reading to her, I’d previously read her a script I’d been given by Quentin Tarrantino, but somehow I don’t think she grasped some of the darker humour. This book, however, she loved!
The book is called ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar.’ I’m so excited about its potential for children that I’ve already spoken to my local bookshop owner and suggested he encourage other parents to buy this book to read to theirs. He was so awed by the brilliance of the idea that he beamed at me and said, ‘You think?’ Yes, I said, trust me – it’ll catch on.
Next time, I will be discussing how dressing your children in this season's colours from Armani Junior can enhance their spirituality.
Love and Enlightenment
